FAQ

What is MultiPane?

MultiPane is a desktop workspace for opening multiple websites and web apps side by side, with control over whether panes use separate or shared sessions.

Is MultiPane a browser?

MultiPane is a Windows desktop app for organizing multiple web views in one window. It isn’t a collection of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or other browser brands — and it isn’t just ordinary split-screen browsing.

Can I use different accounts on the same website?

Yes. Isolated Sessions let different panes stay signed into different accounts on the same site.

Can multiple panes use the same login?

Yes. When you want another pane to use an existing authenticated session, choose Same login as this pane when splitting, or use Share with… on the pane session control — instead of signing in again.

Are sessions shared automatically?

No. Panes start isolated. Session sharing only happens when you explicitly choose it.

Can I use MultiPane with localhost?

Yes. Open http://localhost:3000 (include http://) in one or more panes to keep multiple authenticated states open against the same local application while testing.

Can I use MultiPane without multiple accounts?

Yes. MultiPane is also useful for dashboards, monitoring, research, documentation, responsive testing, and any workflow where keeping multiple web views visible together saves time.

How many panes can I open?

Free: 2 panes, 1 workspace. Pro: up to 12 panes, 100 workspaces, device frames, URL sync, and up to 3 computers. Isolated and shared sessions are available on Free and Pro.

Which operating systems are supported?

Windows today. macOS is coming later.

Who do I pay?

Pro is billed by Paddle. They handle invoices, taxes where required, and subscription management. We issue your MultiPane license key after purchase.

Where is my data stored?

Pane sessions and workspaces stay on your computer in a local profiles file. We do not host your browsing content. See the Privacy Policy.
