MultiPane is a software product developed and operated by (parohalabs.com). This Privacy Policy explains how ("we", "us") handles information when you use the MultiPane website and desktop application.

1. Summary

• Browsing sessions and cookies inside MultiPane panes stay on your device.
• Workspace layouts may be stored locally on your computer.
• Payments and billing identity are handled by Paddle (Merchant of Record).
• We collect minimal data needed to run the site, support, and licensing.

2. Information we collect

Website

• Standard server/analytics logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) if analytics are enabled;
• Information you send us by email or contact forms (name, email, message).

Desktop app

• License status and license key stored locally after activation;
• Workspace configuration (pane names, URLs, layout) saved on your machine;
• We do not receive the contents of websites you open inside panes unless you voluntarily share them with support.

Anonymous usage analytics

Our website may send page views and basic interaction events (for example download button clicks) to PostHog Cloud (EU) so we can understand traffic. This may include pages visited, browser/device type, and approximate location derived by the analytics provider.

Separately, if enabled (default when configured), the desktop app may send a once-per-day anonymous heartbeat to PostHog containing a random device identifier, app version, operating system, and Free/Pro plan. The app heartbeat does not include website URLs you open inside panes, page content, or your name/email. You can turn app analytics off with the Anonymous stats checkbox.

Purchases (Paddle)

When you buy Pro, Paddle processes your payment and may collect name, email, billing address, tax IDs, and payment details under Paddle's Privacy Policy. We may receive your email and purchase metadata needed to issue and support your license.

3. How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve MultiPane;
• Process licenses and prevent abuse;
• Respond to support requests;
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Paddle — payments and subscriptions;
• Infrastructure providers — hosting the website / email (if used);
• Authorities when required by law.

5. International transfers

MultiPane is offered globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards with processors.

6. Retention

Support emails and license records are kept as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. You can delete local app data by uninstalling MultiPane and removing its application data folder.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data we control. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location (including EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or object to certain processing. Contact legal@multipane.app. For payment data held by Paddle, contact Paddle or use their customer tools.

9. Children

MultiPane is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy by posting a new version with a revised effective date.
